One 60-day voyage around the Australian Coast was terminated following the tragic passing of an elderly lady who was left behind by the ship on a distant tropical isle.

The passenger had been walking on the tropical location with fellow passengers from the vessel, but broke off from the excursion for a rest. The ship left without her and went back several hours later after the ship staff became aware the passenger was unaccounted for.

A large-scale search operation located her person the following day.

Officials are investigating the tragedy, together with police and the medical examiner.

Head of the voyage organizer stated that passengers and staff on the ship were notified that the continuation of the journey had been cancelled due to the "unfortunate death and prior engine troubles".

In a statement, he further stated that travelers would be issued a complete reimbursement, and said the organization was working "to arrange the travel back of the passengers via private aircraft".

Authorities also published an latest statement, and said they had "delivered a notice to the Commander" prohibiting any further travelers from getting on the ship.

The representative said that they would visit the vessel in Cairns upon its coming back.

She added that she desired the investigation would be able to identify what "the organization should have done that might have protected Mother's being".

"According to reports from the authorities that it was a exceptionally warm period, and mother fell ill on the uphill trek," she explained.

"They requested her to go back, unescorted. Then the ship left, apparently without performing a roll call.

"At some stage in that process, or not long after, mother passed away, alone."

In a statement, the Chief Executive verified that the organization was "cooperating fully with officials to aid their examination".

He said that the firm was "deeply sorry that this has happened" and had provided its total backing to the loved ones.
