Iranian Forces State Strike on US Base in Bahrain, Amid Regional Retaliatory Strikes.

Iranian forces say they have struck a American military facility in Bahrain, as Iran launched strikes throughout the Middle East in response for a significant and continuing attack targeting the nation by the US and Israel.

Huge plumes of black smoke were seen rising from an area close to the headquarters of the US Navy's Fifth Fleet in Manama, Bahrain. The extent of any destruction is not yet known and the US has remained silent.

Regional Interceptions

In other parts of the Middle East, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar and the State of Kuwait - which all house US military bases - stated they have intercepted incoming projectiles in their air space.

In the Qatari capital, the Qatari Ministry of Defence said it had successfully engaged several missiles seemingly aimed at the Al Udeid Air Base, the largest American base in the region.

IRGC Statement

Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) stated it was striking American facilities and interests as part of operation "Truthful Promise 4", in retaliation for the offensive on Iran initiated by the United States and its ally Israel on Saturday morning.

That initial attack - launched at approximately 09:15 Iran time - has so far focused on locations associated with the the regime, with US President Donald Trump urging the Iranian people to rise up against the regime.

Additional Developments

In the State of Israel, air raid sirens sounded across the country after the Israeli military reported it had detected an barrage of missiles from Iran.

The defence ministry of the United Arab Emirates announced that the country has been targeted by a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".

"Emirati air defenses responded to the missiles with notable success and destroyed a several projectiles," the statement continued.

It said debris fell on a neighborhood in the capital, causing some material damage and fatalities.

The United States Air Force is stationed at the Al Dhafra base, to the south of the Emirati capital, along with the Emirati Air Force.
