The President Calls Families of Attacked National Guard Soldiers to the Presidential Residence

Former President Trump announced on Sunday that he has asked the relatives of a Guard member tragically killed last week to visit the presidential home.

He mentioned that he spoke to her family and they were “deeply grieving”.

Details on the Heartbreaking Shooting

US army specialist Beckstrom, 20, was killed in a attack on Wednesday in DC.

Her comrade, Andrew Wolfe, twenty-four years old, remains hospitalized in critical condition.

Gatherings across the state have been held in their memory.

Presidential Invitation

The president stated he’s discussed a meeting at the presidential residence for the parents of both individuals of the West Virginia National Guard.

“I told them: ‘When you’re able, because that’s a hard experience, arrive at the White House. We’re going to pay tribute to Sarah,” the president informed reporters. “And likewise with Andrew, recover or not.”

Public Response

Community members gathered over the past few days at Webster County high school in the state to remember Sarah.

Both the soldiers had been fulfilling duties with the state guard as part of Trump’s national effort to support law enforcement in the capital.

Remembering the Soldier

“Sarah was the kind of student that teachers desired. She behaved with quiet strength, a bright grin and a optimistic attitude that encouraged those around her,” the principal, the leader of Beckstrom’s alma mater, stated to the Associated Press. “She was sweet, caring and always willing to assist people.”

Service details for Beckstrom are yet to be finalized.

Legal Actions and Government Revisions

Law enforcement have indicted a 29-year-old suspect with a charge of first-degree murder and charges of attempted murder while carrying a weapon.

The event caused the administration to suspend refugee claims and cease issuing entry permits to owners of Afghan passports.

Status of the Airman

Andrew Wolfe, a native of the city, started his military career in February 2019 and is a 2019 graduate of his local high school, per the news agency.

He is still undergoing care and is “in a critical fight”, West Virginia leader Patrick Morrisey stated on television.

The state’s top lawyer Bondi informed Fox News Sunday that she planned to speak to the family.

Legacy of Sarah Beckstrom

Sarah, from her hometown, completed her education from Webster County high school in 2023 and joined the military shortly after, serving as a law enforcement officer with excellence, according to the West Virginia National Guard.

“She had a lot of goodness and she definitely had bravery,” the governor informed the audience at the service. “Though her life lasted far too short, she has left a mark that’s going to be remembered always.”
