Zayn Malik and Louis Tomlinson Set to Come Together for Netflix Road Trip Show
Ex- One Direction members Zayn Malik & Louis Tomlinson are set to come together for a upcoming streaming road trip show.
This docuseries will allegedly track the pair as they journey throughout the United States. At the helm will be Nicola Marsh, who also directed the Demi Lovato documentary called Child Star.
This announcement comes about a year following the unfortunate passing of their former bandmate Liam Payne, who passed away in an accident in Argentina. In a homage soon afterwards, Malik referred to Payne as his “family” in a performance, while Tomlinson described him “an essential piece” of One Direction via social media.
The group, formed on a talent show in 2010, rose to become one of the biggest-selling boybands in history, selling more than 70 m records. Malik departed in 2015 and has since pursued a successful career, while Tomlinson put out his latest studio album recently.
Before Payne’s passing, reports indicated that the band was considering a comeback special. Payne has recently been featured after his death in Netflix’s reality show Building the Band.
Zayn and Louis had a social media spat away in 2015, when the former claimed the latter of making “bitchy comments” online.
This duo were spotted in public not long ago, and Tomlinson was questioned about speculation that they would be collaborating. “I saw that,” he said. “I thought that was quite interesting, yeah … Very astute. I suppose they’ll just have to wait and see.”
Last month, Malik announced a Vegas residency set for the coming year.
The currently untitled series is slated to premiere on Netflix in 2026. It marks the newest star-fronted factual venture on the platform, with forthcoming documentaries focusing on stars including Victoria Beckham, Eddie Murphy, and the band Take That.
